New edition of "Geigel", edited by JR Haag, has been published

There aren't many legal works that can look back on a 90-year success story. "Geigel" is one of them. Founded by Dr. Reinhart Geigel and first published in 1934, "Der Haftpflichtprozess" still stands today as the standard work on liability law. Now, on December 13, 2023, the extensively revised and nearly 2400-page 29th edition has been released, bringing the work up to date with the legal status of Autumn 2023. The 19-member authorship is more distinguished than ever, including no fewer than six (current or former) Federal Court judges alongside other highly qualified authors from the judiciary and legal profession.

Our law firm has been connected to the work for a long time. Dr. Robert Geigel, the son of the founder, who took over the editorship from his father, handed it over to Dr. Günter Schlegelmilch from the 18th edition in 1982. Dr. Schlegelmilch, who worked as a lawyer in our firm from 1995 to 2010, continued the editorship until the 25th edition in 2008. Since the 26th edition in 2011, our senior partner, Justizrat Kurt Haag, who has been an author since the 19th edition in 1986, has been the editor. Until today, a total of seven lawyers from our firm have worked as co-authors of the "Geigel". In addition to Justizrat Haag, our partner Rechtsanwalt Michael Kaufmann, who has been an author since 2008, also contributed to the new edition.
